I think James Gosling has selected the best option for utilization of his experties which is beneficial for both i.e. Google and Gosling.

All too often, as we work through software projects, we find ourselves faced with simple roadblocks that take longer than they should to get passed. This is sometimes the result of poor documentation by SDK and API writers; sometimes, the difficulty lies in trying to do things that are not often done. As I develop in Android and hit these snags, I feel the willingness to share the solutions I have to spent time digging for with others that find themselves in similar situations. This blog is a culmination of that goal.
